About Prof. Carlos Jerez Hanckes
Prof. Carlos Jerez Hanckes has over 15 years of experience in academia and entrepreneurship, designing, managing and overseeing several private and public data science-related initiatives with national and international impact. He is a former ETH Zurich postdoctoral fellow, received his doctoral degree in applied mathematics at Ecole Polytechnique, France, after becoming an electrical engineer at PUC Chile. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed publications in top applied and computational mathematics journals, and is recurrent invited lecturer at international conferences with collaborations with researchers at top institutions worldwide. He currently lives in Santiago, Chile, and is loving husband and father of three young boys who keep him very active.
